Pearl Knotting

Saturday 3rd December 12-2pm £16

Pearl knotting is a staple of beading and jewellery making. Traditionally pearls are threaded on silk and the silk is knotted between each pearl. This ensures that if the strand of pearls breaks then the pearls are not all lost. It's also more comfortable to wear a string of pearls that are knotted as the wearers hair will not catch in between pearls (which happens with pearls that are simply strung). A string of pearls looks contemporary when paired with a contrasting colour of silk, and classic when paired with a matching colour, once you know how the options are endless. Suitable for all. The price Includes Tuition, Needle, thread and clasp, excludes beads
